Shortly after beginning medical school, I experienced some academic difficulties. After seeing my physicians, I was diagnosed with ADHD. After I started receiving specific treatment for ADHD, I requested the school to accommodate me for the disability as recommended by my physician. One of the requests made was for extended time to take my exams. The extension of time was granted and I was successful in my studies however the school dismissed me from the graduate program. I appealed the dismissal and was allowed to continue school while the appeal was in process. The school committee in charge of this decision had requested that I seek an outside evaluator as they did not believe the authenticity of my diagnosis. Even though it was confirmed that I had this disability, I lost the appeal and was dismissed from the program. I hired Leeds Brown Law, P.C. to represent me. They negotiated a settlement for me. Lenard Leeds, Esq. fought hard for me and represented me in my discrimination case. Thank you Mr. Leeds for helping me.
